Heritage consultants Penrith, Townscape securing consent in Conservation area

Townscape Chartered Town Planning and Heritage Consultant Penrith are pleased to have helped secure full planning permission for a 5 unit apartment development in Penrith, Cumbria.

Located within Penrith’s most prestigious and sought after Conservation Area, Townscape argued the planning and conservation case for the development of the new 5 unit apartment development to be built on vacant garden space. Despite a number of objections including the Conservation Officer, Townscape’s  town Planning and Heritage expertise and professional approach led the case officer in determining the application for approval and stating the proposal ‘will bring an positive enhancement to the conservation area’.

In addition to being in a conservation area, the application site is adjacent to a terrace of grade II Listed Buildings and Townscapes approach meant that the application was supported by a thorough and robust Heritage Impact Assessment resulting in no harm to their significance.

Townscape’s Director Jason Kennedy, said “At Townscape, we take our approach to Town Planning and Heritage very seriously, we ensure we provide our clients with the best, most up to date and accurate advice possible.
