Planning consultant Oldham secure Listed Building Consent for replacement windows for Manor Mill

Manor Mill is a Grade II listed former cotton Mill in Chadderton, Oldham. Currently owned and occupied by Uultimate Products and serves both as their main office and HQ, showrooms and warehouse. The mill has suffered from its 400 or so original timber windows deteriorating to the point whereby repair would not be cost effective. The building would be too hot in summer, too cold in winter and maintenance was cost prohibitive

Townscape successfully argued that although ordinarily Upvc windows would not be acceptable to a listed building, the exceptional circumstances and wide ranging benefits that would occur meant that the windows should be allowed. The full listed building consent has resulted in a more secure building in a better maintained state and its continued use as a HQ of a growing and successful local business.
