Townscape Chartered Town Planning and Heritage Consultants Ltd was pleased to be involved in the securing of greenbelt planning permission for this exceptional new build on land in the Essex greenbelt near Epping. Acting as Heritage Consultants, we were able to demonstrate the history of the former Debden Hall site, identifying its original architect of Henry Holland and probable garden design by Capability Brown.
Dating from 1775, Debden Hall had a chequered history before fire removed the original building and subsequent rebuilds never became the anticipated success. Following break up of the estate, parts of of which were developed upon by 20th century housing.
Working with Epping based Clear Architects, we were able to demonstrate the special circumstances and wider public interest in the site and thereby securing planning permission for a new build.
